Terms of Service
Last updated: 3 September 2026
These Terms govern your use of Oshi Runner ("we", "us"), a personal shopping (proxy purchasing) service operated by Tsukasa Adachi, a sole proprietor in Japan. By submitting a request or making a payment you agree to these Terms.
1. What we do
We buy items in Japan on your behalf, as your purchasing agent, and ship them to you. You are the buyer of the items; we purchase them for you and hold them until they are shipped. We are not the seller or manufacturer of the items and give no warranty for them beyond what is described here.
2. Requests and quotes
- You submit a request describing the items, quantities, maximum prices and your shipping country.
- We reply with a quote in Japanese yen (JPY). Any amount shown in another currency is a reference only; you are charged in JPY.
- A quote is valid for 3 days unless it states otherwise. Event and lottery requests carry their own deadlines, set by the event date or the product's release date.
- We may decline any request at our discretion, including items we consider prohibited, impractical, or against the rules of the event or store.
3. Prices and fees
Your total consists of:
- Item cost — the actual purchase price, including Japanese consumption tax where charged.
- Service fee — a flat fee per store run, per Kuji pull or per event day, as listed on our Pricing section. Orders with an item cost above JPY 15,000 are charged 20% of the item cost in place of the flat fee. Queueing beyond one hour is charged at JPY 2,000 per hour.
- Packing fee — as listed on the Pricing section.
- Payment processing — 5% of the total, covering the card and currency conversion charges our payment processor bills us.
- International shipping — at actual carrier cost, determined after packing. Shipping is either invoiced separately once your parcel is packed, or included in the first payment as an estimate if you choose one-time payment; any difference over JPY 500 is settled before dispatch.
If the actual item cost comes in lower than quoted, the difference is refunded to your original payment method. If it would exceed your stated budget cap, we ask you before buying.
4. Payment
- All orders are prepaid. We do not purchase anything until payment is received. First-time customers may ask to split the payment: item cost upfront, our service and packing fees after the parcel arrives. This is offered at our discretion and only on a first order.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
- For orders above JPY 50,000, or for a first order, we may require additional verification before purchase.
- Quotes not paid within their validity period are cancelled automatically.
5. Purchasing
- We use reasonable efforts to obtain your items. Availability is never guaranteed, especially for event-limited and lottery items.
- We respect purchase limits set by circles, stores, lotteries and events. We will not buy more than the permitted quantity, and we may decline items known to be resale-restricted.
- If an item is sold out or over budget, we follow the instruction in your request: skip it, ask you first, or substitute a similar variant.
- We do not buy: second-hand items (at this time), adult (R18) material, event or concert tickets of any kind, items prohibited for export from Japan or for import into your country, items requiring a Japanese ID, membership or address we do not hold, and anything we consider unsafe to ship.
- This service is for personal collectors only. We do not accept bulk purchasing or requests made for the purpose of resale. We will decline any order that appears to be for resale, and we may ask what an item is for before accepting it.
- We will not exceed a "one per person" limit. Where a circle, booth, shop or lottery restricts quantity, we buy at most the permitted amount for you, whatever quantity you ask for. This is not negotiable: breaking these limits gets proxies barred from events and takes stock away from other fans.
6. Cancellations and refunds
- Before we travel: you may cancel, and we refund everything you paid less the payment processing charge our processor keeps.
- After we travel but before we buy: we refund the item cost, packing fee and any shipping estimate in full. The service fee is not refunded, because the trip has already been made.
- Items we could not buy: the item cost is refunded in full. Where we obtained none of the items on your order — the Kuji was sold out, the shelf was empty — we also refund the service fee in full for store runs and Kuji orders, even though the trip was made. Event days are the exception: the event-day fee stands once we have attended, because it commits a whole day. Lottery and Kuji pulls that actually take place are treated as performed once the tickets are drawn, whatever the prizes turn out to be.
- After we purchase: the order cannot be cancelled. Japanese stores and events generally do not accept returns, and we cannot return items on your behalf.
- Refunds are made to the original payment method. Payment processing charges kept by our processor are not refundable and are deducted from refunds.
- Refunds are issued within 7 days of confirmation.
7. Storage and consolidation
- We store purchased items free of charge for 30 days from purchase so that you can combine shipments.
- After 30 days a storage fee of JPY 300 per week per order applies.
- If we cannot reach you and the items remain unshipped for 120 days after purchase, we may dispose of or sell them to recover our costs, and any remaining balance is forfeited.
8. Shipping
- We ship by Japan Post EMS, which is tracked and insured. Japan Post withdrew its small-packet service at the end of 2025 and surface mail has not resumed, so cheaper postal classes are largely no longer available. Where a courier or another postal class is available and cheaper for your parcel, we will show you that option too. We tell you the price before you pay.
- Risk of loss or damage passes to you when we hand the parcel to the carrier. We pack every parcel carefully and photograph the contents and the packing.
- If a parcel is lost or damaged in transit, we file the claim with the carrier on your behalf. Compensation is limited to what the carrier pays under the chosen method. Choose an insured method for valuable items.
- Customs, duties and taxes in your country are your responsibility. We declare the true contents and value of every parcel. We do not under-declare or mark parcels as gifts. For parcels to the United States declared between USD 100 and USD 2,500, Japan Post requires duty to be prepaid before acceptance; we arrange this and bill it to you at cost. If you refuse a parcel or fail to pay duties and it is returned to us, return shipping and re-shipping costs are charged to you.
- Delivery times shown are carrier estimates and are not guaranteed.
- Claims about a delivered parcel — missing, damaged or incorrect items — must reach us within 7 days of delivery, with photographs of the parcel as received. We cannot investigate later claims because carriers close their own claim windows. Do not return anything to us without asking first; unannounced returns are not refunded.
9. Your responsibilities
- Provide accurate item details, budget and shipping information.
- Check that the items you request can be legally imported into your country. This is your responsibility, not ours. Several countries, including Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom and New Zealand, restrict drawn depictions as well as photographic material. If customs seizes a parcel, we cannot refund it.
- Respond to our questions within a reasonable time; unanswered questions can delay or cancel a request.
10. Chargebacks and fraud
We keep purchase receipts, packing photographs and tracking records for every order, and will use them to contest unjustified chargebacks. Accounts that file fraudulent chargebacks are permanently refused service.
11. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you is limited to the total of the service and packing fees you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive losses, for the acts of carriers or customs authorities, or for the quality, authenticity or condition of items as sold by the store, circle or lottery.
Lottery and Kuji outcomes are random by design. You are paying us to enter the lottery on your behalf, not to obtain any particular prize, and no prize outcome gives rise to a claim.
12. Communication
We communicate by email and through our Discord server. Quotes, payment links and tracking numbers are sent there. Please do not send payment card details through Discord or by email.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. The version in force when you paid applies to that order.
14. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court as the court of first instance.
